Raipur : A controversial video clip, which has suddenly resurfaced on social media, has triggered sharp political debate in Chhattisgarh. The footage, now widely circulated, shows a senior office bearer of the Chhattisgarhiya Kranti Sena using violent and derogatory language against the State’s Chief Minister during a protest held at Pachpedi naka in July.

The protest had been organised against the proposed renaming of Pachpedi naka, where members of the Kranti Sena had staged a demonstration. In the video, the organisation’s senior functionary is heard threatening to “kill” the Chief Minister if his diktat was not followed, while also issuing further warnings of violence. The remarks, recorded during an on-camera interaction with a local YouTube channel at the site, did not initially attract wider attention but have now resurfaced, gaining traction across platforms.

The fresh circulation of the clip has drawn strong reaction from Virendra Dubey, State Convener of the Chhattisgarh Rashtrawadi Sangh. Taking to social media, Dubey posted his own video expressing outrage over the content and called upon the police administration and ruling Bharatiya Janata Party workers to take the matter seriously. “There are certain Bermuda Triangles in Chhattisgarh’s political sphere—small in size, but deeply inhuman in conduct. They need to be brought in line,” Dubey wrote, adding slogans of “Jai Shri Ram” and “Jai Chhattisgarh” at the end of his post.

Observers believe the episode highlights the dangers of unchecked rhetoric in the State’s volatile political climate. Experts caution that inflammatory statements, if left unaddressed, can contribute to social unrest. With the Pachpedi naka dispute already a sensitive flashpoint, the video’s re-emergence has raised concerns of renewed friction.

While the police have not yet issued an official response, calls for intervention are growing louder. Political analysts say the matter may gain further momentum in the coming days, as parties seek to position themselves ahead of crucial electoral battles. For now, the viral video has reopened an episode from July into a fresh controversy, underscoring how quickly archived protest footage can escalate into a new political storm.
