NTPC Sipat celebrated the 51st Foundation Day of NTPC Limited, the country’s largest power generating company, on 7th November 2025 with great enthusiasm and pride. The celebration began with a Guard of Honour presented to Shri Vijay Krishna Pandey, Executive Director and Head of Project, by the personnel of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), followed by the unfurling of the NTPC flag to mark the commencement of the ceremony.

Addressing the gathering, the Executive Director extended his best wishes to all employees on the occasion of NTPC’s 51st Foundation Day and reflected upon the organisation’s glorious journey of over five decades. He highlighted that NTPC, with about 108 stations across the country, has an installed capacity of approximately 85,000 MW and is lighting every fourth bulb in India.

In his address, Shri Pandey also shared the achievements of the 2,980 MW Sipat Super Thermal Power Station, the largest power project in Chhattisgarh, and mentioned that the construction work of the upcoming 800 MW Stage-III unit is progressing rapidly. He further stated that, in addition to power generation, NTPC Sipat has been making remarkable contributions in the areas of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), environment conservation, and innovation.

To mark the occasion, NTPC Sipat launched a special plantation drive aimed at promoting environmental sustainability and contributing to the vision of a Green India. Under this, a total of 4,000 saplings were planted in a single day — 2,000 in Karma village and 2,000 within the project premises. On the same day, a 160 kW rooftop solar installation was also inaugurated.

It is noteworthy that NTPC Sipat had observed Vigilance Awareness Week from 27th October to 2nd November 2025, during which several competitions and awareness activities were organised. The winners of these competitions were felicitated during the Foundation Day event.

On this occasion, the Chief Guest appreciated the dedicated services and contributions of the CISF personnel, Sangwari Mahila Samiti, various Unions and Associations, Bal Bharati Public School, Sanskriti Club, Vaishali Club, State Bank, Post Office, Indian Coffee House, and all partner agencies working in the plant and township, and extended his greetings to everyone on NTPC’s Foundation Day.

The celebration also witnessed the participation of senior officials, including the Chief General Manager, General Managers, Heads of Departments, senior executives, and representatives of Unions and Associations, who jointly cut the cake to commemorate the day. The ceremony concluded with the release of colourful balloons in NTPC’s theme colours, symbolising joy and collective pride.
Subsequently, employees also witnessed the live telecast of the Foundation Day celebration held at NTPC’s Engineering Office Complex, Noida, where Shri Gurdeep Singh, Chairman and Managing Director, NTPC Limited, extended his greetings to all employees and shared the company’s key achievements and future aspirations.
