Birla Fertility & IVF Centre, Raipur, addresses myths around infertility and IVF
Raipur : Birla Fertility & IVF Centre, Raipur, organised a media interaction today to create awareness and dispel myths related to infertility and assisted reproductive technologies.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Namita Chandra Varma, Obstetrician and Infertility Specialist, explained that in vitro fertilisation (IVF) is a safe and advanced procedure in which the egg and sperm are fertilised outside the body in a controlled environment.
“Our Raipur centre offers advanced laboratory facilities, modern equipment, and personalised treatment protocols, resulting in a success rate of nearly 70–80 per cent,” she said. “IVF is a natural and safe process. Babies born through IVF are absolutely healthy, and with genetic testing, the chances of abnormalities are further reduced.”
The centre prepares individualised treatment plans for every patient. In addition, 4–5 free consultation camps are organised each month in Raipur and nearby rural areas to spread awareness.
Dr. Varma also highlighted that a woman’s fertility declines with age and advised couples to seek medical consultation before the age of 35. However, she added that modern genetic testing offers safe alternatives even later in life.
Citing a recent success story, she mentioned the case of a 40-year-old woman who conceived using her own eggs and is now due for delivery next month.
