2,800 senior citizens to undergo eye examinations
Free spectacles to be provided to beneficiaries in need
Raipur : The Adani Foundation has launched the “Vision Care Project” with the objective of improving eye healthcare services for senior citizens in rural areas. The project was launched on Friday at Chicholi village. Under the initiative, senior citizens from villages in the vicinity of Adani Power Limited, Raikheda, will be provided free eye examinations and, as required, free spectacles.
A large number of rural senior citizens participated in the eye screening camp organised on the occasion of the launch. Specialists conducted eye examinations to identify vision-related problems and provided necessary consultation.
Representatives of the Adani Foundation said that the objective of the initiative is to provide quality eye healthcare services to elderly people in rural areas and reduce the daily difficulties caused by vision-related problems. Under the project, eye screening camps will be organised in a phased manner in various villages located around the plant.
Through the Vision Care Project, approximately 2,800 senior citizens will undergo eye examinations. Beneficiaries found to require spectacles for vision correction during the examination will be provided with spectacles free of cost. This will help them in reading, carrying out daily activities and improving their quality of life.
Villagers welcomed the initiative of the Adani Foundation and described it as a useful healthcare service for senior citizens. As part of the Foundation’s series of initiatives in the areas of health, education, livelihood and community development, the project will make an important contribution towards promoting the health of the rural community.
