Ambikapur : A competitive coaching initiative supported by Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RRVUNL) under its corporate social responsibility programme has enabled several rural students to secure admission to Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) and Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRSs), highlighting the impact of structured academic guidance in underserved communities.
During the 2025–26 financial year, RRVUNL established five free competitive coaching centres in Parsa, Basen, Shivnagar, Salka and nearby villages to provide quality coaching for children from rural and economically disadvantaged backgrounds. The programme trained 100 students for the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST), Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS) entrance examination and the All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination (AISSEE).
Students were provided with study material, regular classroom instruction by subject experts, practice sessions and mock tests designed to strengthen their preparation for the competitive examinations.
The initiative yielded encouraging results. Sargam Sarathi from Parsa secured admission to a Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, while Vimla Singh and Shalini Markam from Salka, Swati Singh from Shivnagar, Arun Kumar from Salka, and Sushant Singh Shyam and Mahant Pando from Basen qualified for admission to Eklavya Model Residential Schools.
According to RRVUNL, the achievements demonstrate that students from rural areas can compete successfully in national-level entrance examinations when provided with quality academic support, proper guidance and sustained mentoring. The coaching centres were established to bridge educational gaps faced by children who often lack access to professional coaching because of financial or geographical constraints.
Parents, teachers and local residents welcomed the students’ success and appreciated the initiative, describing it as an important step towards improving educational opportunities in rural areas. RRVUNL said it remains committed to expanding access to quality education, mentoring and career opportunities through similar programmes, enabling more students to realise their academic aspirations and contribute to the country’s development.
