School management’s humane gesture praised — Manager stayed with student throughout treatment

Mungeli :: A tragic incident at SLS Academic Higher Secondary School, Pandariya Road, shocked the entire district on Wednesday. However, the school’s management has set an inspiring example of humanity and responsibility by ensuring timely medical help and bearing the entire treatment cost of the injured student.

According to reports, a Class 10 student attempted to take her own life by jumping from the school’s second floor. Acting swiftly, the school administration immediately rushed her to the Mungeli District Hospital, where she received first aid. She was later referred to Bilaspur’s Apollo Hospital and subsequently to Ramkrishna Care Hospital in Raipur for advanced treatment.

Doctors at Ramkrishna Care Hospital confirmed that the student underwent successful jaw surgery and is now out of danger. Her condition is reported to be stable, and she is recovering gradually.

Speaking to reporters, the student’s father, Dharmendra Singh, expressed deep gratitude towards the school authorities.  “The school not only rushed my daughter to the hospital in time but also took complete responsibility for her treatment. Her surgery has been successful, and the entire medical expense is being borne by the school. Our family is extremely thankful to the school manager, Shiv Aashish Sonkar, and his team,” he said.

School Manager Shiv Aashish Sonkar personally stayed with the student throughout her treatment at Ramkrishna Care Hospital, closely monitoring her condition.  “For us, every student is part of our family,” said Sonkar. “It was our moral duty to stand by her in this difficult time. By God’s grace, the operation went well, and she will soon return home healthy — that is our biggest happiness.”

The school’s compassionate response has been widely appreciated in the community for exemplifying sensitivity, accountability, and the true spirit of education.
