SECL Shines in Special Campaign 5.0 for the Third Consecutive Year

Conducted from 2 to 31 October 2025 under the guidance of the Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances (DARPG) and the Ministry of Coal, Special Campaign 5.0 showcased SECL’s exceptional achievements across cleanliness, record management, scrap disposal, digital initiatives, and media outreach.

115% Achievement in Cleanliness & Site Management

SECL surpassed its target by completing cleanliness drives at 229 sites against the target of 203, covering an area of more than 43 lakh sq. ft across its operational regions.

Scrap Disposal Generates ₹24 Crore Revenue

Demonstrating outstanding efficiency, SECL disposed of over 6,400 metric tonnes of scrap, yielding a revenue of approximately ₹24 crore — more than double the targeted goal.

In record management, SECL reviewed over 2,100 physical files and 23,000 e-files, successfully closing 20,000 e-files, achieving more than 350% of the campaign target.

‘Waste to Wealth’ & Digital Governance Take Centre Stage

A major highlight of SECL’s sustainability initiatives was the establishment of an S-L-R-M (Solid & Liquid Resource Management) Centre at Gevra, which converts biodegradable waste into organic fertilizer. This compost is now being used for plantation and other green initiatives across SECL mines.

During the campaign, several digital portals were launched to promote transparency, efficiency, and ease of governance, including the Internal Selection System, L&R Management Portal, and an HPV Vaccination Portal, reinforcing SECL’s commitment to digital transformation.

‘Kabaad Se Kalakriti’: Innovation Through Creativity

One of the most striking highlights was SECL’s creative initiative ‘Kabaad Se Kalakriti’. Employees at the Gevra CEWS developed life-size models of an S-400 Missile Launcher and a Robotic Soldier using industrial scrap, dedicated to the spirit of Operation Sindoor. The project stood out as a testament to innovation, patriotism, and sustainable artistry.

Inclusive Growth & Employee Welfare Initiatives

As part of its efforts to enhance workplace amenities and promote inclusivity, SECL installed 43 bio-toilets across mining areas, ensuring hygienic and eco-friendly sanitation facilities.

In a landmark moment for women empowerment, SECL inaugurated Coal India’s first fully women-operated store unit in Korba—an initiative that has been widely appreciated as a step towards gender equality and workplace inclusion.

SECL Leads in Media & Digital Engagement

SECL demonstrated exceptional outreach and communication efforts during the campaign.
Key achievements include:

1,148 Tweets/X posts

15 PIB releases

400+ media coverages across national and regional platforms
