Setting a remarkable example in rural education, sanitation, and environmental sustainability, Adani Vidya Mandir, Sarguja has been conferred the prestigious ‘Clean and Green School of the District’ award under the Government of India’s Green and Clean School Initiative. After a comprehensive inspection of over 2,365 schools across the district, the institution secured first place, achieving a five-star rating for outstanding performance across all evaluation parameters.
The award was presented on the occasion of the 77th Republic Day समारोह by Vijay Sharma, Deputy Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, in the presence of District Collector Ajit Vasant, Rajesh Agrawal, senior district officials, and the District Education Officer. The honour was formally received by Dr. T. L. Verma, Vice-Principal of the school.
Outstanding performance in national parameters
During the assessment, the school achieved exceptional scores:
100% in handwashing facilities and effective implementation of Mission LiFE
95.24% in school maintenance
90% in behaviour-change-based hygiene practices
90.91% in safe drinking water facilities
85.19% in sanitation and toilet infrastructure
This cumulative performance placed the institution at the top rank in the district.

A key educational hub in rural Sarguja
Located in the rural belt of Sarguja, the school currently provides quality education to 1,040 students. It is the only CBSE-affiliated school within a 35 km radius and the only school in Chhattisgarh with NABET accreditation.
NABET (National Accreditation Board for Education and Training) operates under the Quality Council of India, granting quality-based accreditation to educational institutions nationwide.
Nutrition, education and livelihoods — a holistic model
The school’s breakfast and midday meal programme is managed by the local women self-help group MUBSS, involving over 250 women, with 17 members preparing nutritious meals daily for nearly 1,000 children.
The nutrition programme includes:
Breakfast: Seasonal fruits, milk with Horlicks; weekly menu of dalia, poha, and boiled chana
Midday meals: Dal, rice, roti, vegetables, with weekly servings of kabuli chana and soybean vadi
