NTPC Vindhyachal Hosts Northern Region Medha Pratiyogita & Power Quiz 2025 fostering curiosity & talent

NTPC Vindhyachal proudly hosted the Northern Region Medha Pratiyogita and Power Quiz 2025 on August 16, 2025, at the Umang Bhawan Auditorium. A total of 30 teams from 8 NTPC stations including Vindhyachal, Singrauli, Rihand, Tanda, Jhajjar, Meja, Unchahar, and Faridabad qualified for the regional round for the power quiz and four categories (Junior, Middle, Senior and Employees) of Medha pratiyogita 2025.
The event began with a warm welcome to Shri Sanjib Kumar Saha, Chief General Manager (Vindhyachal), in the august presence of senior management dignitaries, Dr Janardhan Pandey, Principal (DPS Vindhyanagar) & Shri Gautam Bose, the quiz master. The ceremonial lighting of the lamp and rendition of the NTPC Geet set the tone for the proceedings. In his address, Shri Rakesh Arora, Head of HR (Vindhyachal), extended his best wishes to all participants while also expressing gratitude to NR HQs for giving Vindhyachal the opportunity to host this prestigious regional round.
Shri Saha, in his inaugural address, highlighted the essence of Medha, describing it as more than a competition—a journey of inquisitiveness and continuous learning. Joining virtually, Shri Samiran Sinha Ray, CGM (HR), NR HQs, blessed the participants with his words of encouragement and wisdom.
The quiz, conducted by Shri Gautam Bose kept both participants and audience members actively engaged with thought-provoking questions, making the event lively and interactive. Participants from Unchahar and Jhajjar expressed their appreciation for the event, praising the warm hospitality and excellent arrangements made by the station.
The prize distribution ceremony was graced by Shri Gautam Deb, RED (North) & ED (PM), who joined virtually and emphasized the importance of extracurricular activities like quizzing in shaping well-rounded and responsible citizens. He further assured full management support for such initiatives in the future.
After the prize distribution, Shri Gautam Bose, the quiz master, along with his manager Shri Gaurav, were felicitated for their unwavering support and infectious energy, which ensured the smooth and successful conduct of the regional round. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Shri Javed Samdani, DGM (HR), NR HQs.
Anchored by Smt. Kamna Sharma, DGM (HR), the program was conducted with great finesse. Its success was ensured by the seamless coordination of the HR, TAD, and IT departments.
With its spirit of healthy competition, intellectual engagement and talent development, the regional round of Medha Pratiyogita & Power Quiz once again reinforced NTPC’s commitment to nurturing curiosity, innovation, and holistic growth among its employees and their families.
