“Jo Jeeta Wahi Coal Indian” – CVO, Coal India Shri Brajesh Kumar Tripathy

CVO, Coal India Shri Brajesh Kumar Tripathy visits SECL on a two-day tour
Bilaspur : Coal India Limited’s Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO), Shri Brajesh Kumar Tripathy, arrived at South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) Headquarters, Bilaspur, today on the first day of his two-day official visit.
In the evening, Shri Tripathy delivered a special lecture on vigilance at SECL Headquarters Auditorium. Addressing SECL employees, he said that every Coal Indian plays a crucial role in the nation’s development. “It is often said that the Jo jeeta wahi Sikandar, but I would say—jo jeeta wahi Coal Indian,” he remarked. He added that it is the result of the hard work and dedication of Coal India’s employees that the company has recently been ranked among India’s top 10 most profitable companies.

Emphasizing this year’s Vigilance Awareness theme “Vigilance – Our Shared Responsibility”, Shri Tripathy urged everyone to work collectively towards strengthening the culture of integrity, transparency, and ethical conduct within the organization. He said, “Vigilance is by you, Vigilance is for you, and Vigilance is with you always.” This, he noted, is the true spirit of vigilance, which inspires a sense of responsibility and accountability among every officer and employee.
On this occasion, SECL CMD Shri Harish Duhan said, “I appeal to every member of Team SECL to perform their duties with utmost sincerity and honesty. This is our shared responsibility.”
Following the lecture, CVO, CIL Shri Tripathy interacted with officers of the Vigilance Department at SECL Headquarters during an interactive session.

Earlier in the day, Shri Tripathy participated in a plantation drive organized under the three-month-long Preventive Vigilance Campaign. He planted saplings as part of the twin campaigns “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” and “Ek Ped Satarkta Ke Naam.”
On this occasion, SECL CMD Shri Harish Duhan, Director (Technical – Operations) Shri N. Franklin Jayakumar, Director (HR) Shri Biranchi Das, Director (Finance) Shri D. Sunil Kumar, Director (Technical – Planning/Projects) Shri R.C. Mohapatra, and CVO, SECL Shri Himanshu Jain also planted saplings.
Later, Shri Tripathy chaired a review meeting with Heads of Departments (HoDs) at SECL Headquarters. The meeting included detailed presentations on SECL’s ongoing efforts to promote transparency, accountability, and the adoption of IT-based initiatives.
Before the review meeting, Shri Tripathy visited SECL’s Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC), where he was briefed about its operations. The team informed that the ICCC currently receives live feeds from more than 750 cameras installed across SECL mines, operational areas, and silos. This advanced e-surveillance system has significantly strengthened monitoring and improved coal loading operations.
