Children’s Day Celebrated with Enthusiasm at St. Xavier’s School, Kota; CDC Centre Inaugurated
Kargi Road, Kota : St. Xavier’s School, Kota celebrated Children’s Day and the launch of its Child Development Centre (CDC) with great enthusiasm on Thursday. Observed every year on 14 November, the day marks the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, India’s first Prime Minister, who firmly believed that children are the nation’s future.

The programme commenced with a Saraswati Vandana, followed by a special prayer assembly conducted by the teachers under the guidance of Principal Jitendra Das. Teachers presented cultural performances as part of the celebrations. Principal Das welcomed Asha Dutta, the nodal officer, with a floral bouquet.
The event began with the garlanding and tilak ceremony at the portrait of Pandit Nehru. Addressing the gathering, Principal Das highlighted Nehru’s contributions to the freedom struggle and the making of modern India. He extended greetings to all students and staff on the occasion and encouraged the children to pursue their goals with dedication.
Meritorious students who secured first and second positions in various competitions were felicitated. Principal Das reiterated the school’s commitment to supporting students’ growth and urged them to work consistently toward their ambitions.
Young children enthusiastically participated in a variety of games and cultural activities. Certificates were distributed to all participants. The school also marked the inauguration of its Child Development Centre (CDC) on this occasion, with parent Murli Krishna enrolling his child as the first admission. The entire school staff contributed significantly to the success of the event.
In her address, nodal officer Asha Dutta emphasized the importance of valuing and encouraging children. “Children’s Day reminds us to respect children and support them not only in studies but in every aspect of their growth. Their happiness matters, and without children, the world is incomplete,” she said.
