An awareness session on ‘Cyber Crime and Digital Arrest’ organized at NTPC Sipat

Sipat : An awareness session on the theme “Cyber Crime and Digital Arrest” was organized at NTPC Sipat on 10th September 2025. The programme was conducted under the three-month Preventive Vigilance Campaign being observed by the Central Vigilance Commission from 18th August to 17th November 2025. The session was chaired by Shri Vijay Krishna Pandey, Head of Project, NTPC Sipat. The session was jointly organized by the Vigilance Department and Human Resources Department of NTPC Sipat. The objective of the session was to create awareness among participants about protection and self-safeguarding measures against cybercrimes in the digital era. As subject experts, officials from the Police Administration, Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh) were present in the programme. Shri Rajendra Kumar Jaiswal, Additional Superintendent of Police, shared information with participants through several examples on staying safe on digital platforms, identifying cybercrimes, and taking necessary legal actions. Thereafter, Shri Prabhakar Tiwari, Cyber Cell Specialist, provided detailed information on prevalent methods of cyber fraud in modern times such as ATM frauds, OTP scams, fake tower installation offers, lottery schemes, fraudulent calls, insurance frauds, social media manipulations, and other techniques. He also shared preventive measures, security features, complaint mechanisms, and necessary guidelines. Subsequently, a Q&A session was also organized. The session was attended by Shri Surojit Sinha, General Manager (O&M), Shri Dinesh Kumar Singh Rautela, General Manager (Maintenance), Shri Jayprakash Satyakam, Additional General Manager (HR), Shri Kundan Rathour, Additional General Manager (Vigilance), other senior officials and employees, their family members, executive trainees, contract workers, CISF personnel and their family members, teachers of Bal Bharti School, and residents of Ujjwal Nagar in large numbers. Around 250 participants took part in the programme and benefitted from it.
