SURAJPUR : Top leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday examined an extensive exhibition prepared by Surajpur Police to explain the newly implemented criminal laws and their implications for policing, public rights and justice delivery. The exhibition, set up inside the Surajpur Kotwali premises, aims to bridge the knowledge gap between law enforcement and the public by visually presenting major changes introduced through the updated legal framework.

State BJP President Kiran Singh Deo, Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, Agriculture Minister Ramsevak Paikra, State Organisation General Secretary Pawan Sai and Premnagar MLA Bhoolan Singh Maravi visited the displays and interacted with police officials. They appreciated the structured format through which provisions on investigation, technology integration, victim protection and public access to legal remedies were showcased.

DIG & SSP Surajpur Prashant Thakur, who led the briefing, outlined how the new laws seek to reshape India’s criminal justice system. He highlighted the increased emphasis on digital documentation, technology-supported evidence, faster grievance registration through Zero FIR and e-FIR, and improved safeguards for women, children and vulnerable groups. Modules on child safety, cyber monitoring, community engagement and technology-enabled supervision were also demonstrated.

Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal remarked that the new laws are designed to simplify procedures and deliver justice more efficiently. He said the reforms move the system closer to a model where citizens can expect clarity, faster action and enhanced accountability.

Agriculture Minister Ramsevak Paikra noted that the updated provisions contain stronger mechanisms to ensure timely protection for women and children. He said the improved investigatory protocols, combined with digital monitoring, would strengthen frontline policing.

State BJP President Kiran Singh Deo said such exhibitions help citizens understand how the laws directly affect them. “The changes in the criminal justice framework are fundamental for strengthening policing at every level. Surajpur Police has taken a commendable step by making these updates accessible to the public,” he said.

State Organisation General Secretary Pawan Sai added that awareness initiatives are essential for ensuring that citizens can benefit from the shift toward modern, transparent and technology-based policing.

DIG & SSP Prashant Thakur said the exhibition will remain open for students, legal practitioners, government employees and the public. “Our objective is to build confidence, improve communication and ensure people are aware of the new legal safeguards and responsibilities,” he said.

Collector S. Jayavardhan, BJP District President Murli Manohar Soni, State Working Committee Member Bhimsen Agrawal, former District President Babulal Agrawal, and several public representatives were also present.
