Raipur : The Adani Foundation has distributed school bags to more than 4,300 students studying in government schools across the Tilda development block of Raipur district under its Utthan project, with the objective of encouraging regular school attendance and supporting access to quality education.
The 18-day distribution drive, conducted from July 10 to July 28, covered 41 government schools located in 16 villages surrounding Adani Power Limited’s operations. A total of 4,393 students from Classes I to XII received school bags during the campaign.
The initiative benefited students from villages including Bhatapara, Raykheda, Mohrenga, Mura, Chicholi, Bartori, Khamharia, Tarashiv, Konari, Gaintra and Tulsi, among others. According to the Foundation, the programme aims to provide essential educational resources to students while motivating them to attend school regularly and continue their studies.
The distribution programme commenced in Bhatapara village in the presence of District Panchayat member Swati Verma and Raykheda Sarpanch Dinesh Verma, who handed over school bags to students. Similar events were organised across all 16 villages with the participation of school principals, School Management Committee members, sarpanches and deputy sarpanches, elected representatives, teachers and parents.
Officials from Adani Power Limited, including representatives from the security, finance, health and techno-commercial departments, also participated in the campaign. The programme was carried out under the guidance of the CSR Head of the Adani Foundation, with support from the Foundation’s CSR team.
The campaign covered four newly established government primary schools, seven government high and higher secondary schools, one Swami Atmanand English Medium School, one National Higher Secondary School, 16 government primary schools and 12 government middle schools.
Speaking at an event held at the Government High and Higher Secondary School in Tarashiv, Sarpanch Manish Verma said the Foundation’s contribution to the education sector was commendable and that the distribution of school bags would encourage students to attend school regularly.
Raykheda Sarpanch Dinesh Verma said the Foundation’s work extended beyond infrastructure development and reflected its commitment to the holistic development of students through educational support.
At Mura Government High School, Sarpanch Kanchan Gaikwad described the initiative as an inspiring effort to provide essential educational resources to children in rural areas, adding that such programmes strengthen both students’ enthusiasm for learning and parents’ confidence in the education system.
Representatives of village panchayats, School Management Committees, teachers and parents appreciated the Adani Foundation’s sustained efforts in the fields of education and community development and expressed hope that similar education-focused initiatives would continue in the future.
The Adani Foundation said it continues to work towards the holistic development of rural communities through programmes in education, healthcare, livelihoods and community development. The school bag distribution initiative, it said, reflects its long-term commitment to improving access to quality education and strengthening rural education infrastructure.
