9th PEKB Football Tournament Concludes in Udaipur Block

Charcha Team Emerges Champion; Organized under Adani Foundation’s CSR Initiative 24 Teams and 360 Players Participated, Showcasing Sportsmanship and Talent


Ambikapur : The grand finale of the 9th PEKB Football Tournament 2025 was held at Shaheed Veer Narayan Sports Ground, Parsa, under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RRVUNL). The tournament was organized by Adarsh Tiger Youth Club, Parsa, Gram Panchayat Parsa, and Adani Foundation.

Since its inception in 2015, the PEKB tournament has become a major sporting event in the region, witnessing growing participation and public enthusiasm each year. This year, 24 teams comprising 360 players displayed their football skills and competitive spirit. On the day of the final match, around 10,000 spectators gathered to witness the thrilling contest, marking the event’s increasing popularity and community engagement.

Semifinal Matches

On October 16, Charcha Team defeated ATK Raipur with a close score of 3–2, while Parsa-B Team secured a 3–0 victory against Vrindavan Team to reach the finals. The semifinals drew an audience of nearly 2,500 to 3,000 spectators.

Among the dignitaries present were District Panchayat Member Rammuniya Kariyam, Parsa Sarpanch Tulsi Uike, Vrindavan Sarpanch, and Basen Sarpanch Rameshwari Porte, along with several community leaders and local residents.

The Final Match

The much-anticipated final took place on October 17, with Parsa-B Team facing Charcha Team. After an intense match, Charcha Team clinched the championship title with a 1–0 victory, thanks to a decisive goal by Sachin.

Awards and Recognition

Winner: Charcha Team – PEKB Trophy + ₹61,000 cash prize

Runner-Up: Parsa-B Team – Runner-up Trophy + ₹41,000 cash prize

Man of the Match: Praveen (Charcha Team)

Best Goalkeeper: Sachin (Parsa Team)

Best Scorer: Ghanshyam (Parsa Team)

Cultural Presentations

The event also featured captivating cultural performances by the Shaila Dance Group of Parsa village, led by Sitaram Neti and Lalku Ram. The performances added vibrancy and festive energy to both the opening and closing ceremonies.

Speaking on the occasion, Janpad President Om Prakash Paikra congratulated the organizers and commended the efforts to promote rural sports. He expressed hope that the tournament would continue to grow in scale and participation in the coming years.


CSR Impact and Community Response

The Adani Foundation, in addition to promoting football, is actively supporting archery and other rural sports, creating new avenues for local youth to engage in healthy competition. Such initiatives nurture confidence, discipline, teamwork, and leadership, while also enhancing physical and mental well-being.

Local community members praised the event, describing it as an inspiration for young athletes. The Adani Foundation’s initiative aims to provide rural youth with a positive platform for growth and holistic development through sports.
