9 of 14 seats in Tilda rural region filled by students from Foundation-run centres
Raipur : A coaching initiative run by the Adani Foundation has achieved notable success this year, with nine students securing admission to the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) located at Mana in Raipur.
The initiative, operated under the aegis of Adani Power Limited, is being implemented across 12 villages in the Tilda development block. Out of the 14 seats allotted to the Tilda rural region, nine have been secured by students from the Adani Navodaya Coaching Centres, highlighting the programme’s effectiveness in preparing rural students for competitive entrance examinations.
Among the selected candidates, two students each are from Chicholi, Mura, Khapri and Tarashiv villages, while one student has been selected from Moharenga. The coaching centres provide structured and focused preparation for the JNV entrance examination through regular classes, subject-specific guidance and disciplined practice sessions.
Since its inception in 2011, the Navodaya coaching initiative has enabled a total of 91 students to gain admission to Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas. The programme had also delivered an impressive performance in the previous year, when 13 out of the 14 seats in the Tilda rural category were secured by students from these centres.
Currently, around 130 students are enrolled in the coaching programme and attend classes on a regular basis. According to organisers, even those who do not qualify for JNV admission demonstrate noticeable academic improvement, reflected in better performance and higher scores in their school examinations.
The achievement has been widely appreciated by the local community. Sarpanches from Chicholi, Mura, Khapri, Tarashiv and Moharenga villages have expressed gratitude to the Adani Foundation for its sustained efforts and have urged that the initiative be continued in the coming years. They noted that such academic support plays a crucial role in shaping the future of rural students.
The Adani Foundation continues to implement a range of community development initiatives across Chhattisgarh, focusing on education, healthcare, sustainable livelihoods, community infrastructure and women’s empowerment. Through educational support, skill development programmes, health camps, training for women’s groups and employment-oriented initiatives for rural youth, the Foundation is working towards improving the overall quality of life in local communities.
