National Experts Share Life-Saving Strategies; Three-Day Symposium Focuses on Advanced ECG and Emergency Echocardiography

Raipur has achieved a significant milestone in the healthcare sector. The three-day 4th Annual Cardiovascular Emergencies Symposium (ACES 2026), organized at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Raipur, concluded successfully on Sunday. This event has not only elevated academic discourse in the medical field but has also firmly established AIIMS Raipur as a premier powerhouse on the national map of Cardiac Emergency Care.

Addressing the inaugural session, Lt. Gen. Ashok Jindal (Retd.), Executive Director and CEO of AIIMS Raipur, emphasized that time is the most critical factor in emergency situations. Stressing the need for “proficiency-based training” in time-sensitive emergencies, he lauded the Department of Trauma & Emergency Medicine for creating a national platform for real-world emergency care.

Similarly, Dr. Eli Mohapatra (Dean Academics) and Dr. Abhiruchi Galhotra (Dean Research) highlighted the evolution of Emergency Medicine as a structured discipline and the growing role of bedside decision-making and clinical research.

A major highlight of the symposium was the keynote address by Dr. Sagar Galwankar, President of INDUSEM (Florida, USA). He shared insights on the current challenges and future directions for cardiovascular emergency training in India.

Prof. (Dr.) Devendra K. Tripathi, Head of the Department of Trauma & Emergency Medicine, clarified that the core philosophy of ACES 2026 was centered on “what to identify, what action to take, and how quickly”—ensuring that training translates directly into saving lives in the ER.

The defining feature of ACES 2026 was its practical, hands-on workshops. The key highlights included:Training for real-time assessment of heart conditions at the bedside, India’s only workshop that uses game-based learning to simplify complex ECG interpretations, Specialized ECG sessions designed specifically for nurses and paramedical staff.

Organizing Secretary Dr. Naman Agrawal stated that the symposium saw participation from over 120 doctors, residents, and nursing professionals from various states across India. The primary objective was to create a learning environment where young healthcare providers could interact closely with national and international experts, building the confidence required to manage real-life cardiac emergencies at their respective workplaces.
