New School Bus Provided to Saraswati Shishu Mandir Lakhanpur; Another Initiative by Adani Foundation to Promote Educational Improvements

A new school bus provided by RRUVNL under its social responsibility initiative to support education in the region and ensure student safety and convenience.
Bus inauguration held on Friday; purchased at a cost of ₹20 lakh. Over 80 students from 11 nearby villages will benefit from improved transport facilities.

Lakhanpur : A special event was organized on Friday at Saraswati Shishu Mandir, located in Lakhanpur of Surguja district, where a new 20-seater school bus was handed over to the school. The bus was provided by Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RRVUNL), with the aim of offering safe and comfortable transportation for 82 students from 11 villages surrounding Lakhanpur, including Bharatpur, Ganeshpur, Jhanwarpura, Kosanga, and others.

The bus was formally inaugurated and handed over by the Chief Guest, Mr. Babulal Verma, Additional Chief Engineer at RRVUNL, who cut the ceremonial ribbon and presented the bus documents to the school principal, Mrs. Madhu Pandey. Present at the event were Deputy Chief Engineer Mr. Lalchand Baresah from RRVUNL, Cluster HR Head of Adani Enterprises Sarguja Mr. Ram Dwivedi, Head of Land Department Mr. Rajesh Saw, Head of Adani Foundation Sarguja Mr. Ashok Panda, and Mr. Amit Rai. Also in attendance were District Panchayat Member and Manager Mr. Vijay Agrawal, Municipal Council President’s Representative Mr. Dinesh Sahu, Vice President Mr. Sunny Bansal, Ward Councilor Mr. Rakesh Sahu, School President Mr. Ashish Mangal, Mr. Sunil Agrawal, Mr. Saurabh Agrawal, along with teachers and a large number of students.

Based on the guidance of local MLA Mr. Rajesh Agrawal, the school bus was procured at a cost of approximately ₹20 lakh under the social outreach of RRVUNL’s Parsa East Kete Basen mine, facilitated by the Adani Foundation.

Addressing the event, Mr. Babulal Verma said, “RRVUNL is committed to the development of this region. I hope this bus will serve as a safe transport facility for students coming from nearby rural areas.” At the end of the program, the school management expressed heartfelt thanks to RRVUNL and the Adani Foundation.

As part of its infrastructure development initiatives in the region, RRVUNL has undertaken several projects in 14 villages near the mining site. These include repair and painting work in government schools, construction of additional classrooms and concrete toilets, road construction, renovation of passenger shelters, and beautification efforts. Furthermore, to promote environmental sustainability, over 15 lakh trees have been planted across more than 450 hectares of mined land.
