
National Institute of Technology (NIT) Raipur celebrated National Youth Day 2026 on the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda with great enthusiasm and a series of inspiring activities. On this occasion, Team NSS, NIT Raipur organized various programs aimed at motivating youth towards creativity, discipline, social responsibility, nationalism, and self-reliance. Along with these activities, a live telecast of the address by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, was organized under the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD) 2026.
The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Narendra D. Londhe, Registrar, NIT Raipur; Dr. Manoj Chopkar, Dean (Student Welfare); Dr. S. N. Raw, Nodal Officer, Viksit Bharat, NIT Raipur; Dr. T. P. Sahu; Dr. Nitish Bhardwaj; Dr. Govardhan Bhatt, along with other faculty members and students.

The programs commenced with a Poster Making Competition on the theme “Choose Dreams Over Drugs”, in which students participated enthusiastically and impressed everyone with their powerful messages and creative expressions. Following the competition, a prize distribution ceremony was held to felicitate the winners. Subsequently, a skit was performed, effectively highlighting the harmful effects of drug abuse through a compelling dramatic presentation. The event also featured “Run for Swadeshi,” which began from the Main Building. The run symbolized the spirit of nationalism, self-reliance, and collective responsibility, and emerged as a vivid representation of the ideals of Swami Vivekananda.
In the subsequent session, a live telecast of the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s address was organized under the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD) 2026. Faculty members, staff, and students attended the session. The Hon’ble Prime Minister’s address provided valuable guidance on youth leadership, nation-building, and the vision of a developed India.
Through these comprehensive activities, NIT Raipur strongly reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing socially responsible, disciplined, and visionary youth, in alignment with the ideals of Swami Vivekananda and the national vision of a developed India.
