Adani Power Celebrates 80th Independence Day with Enthusiasm at Chhote Bhandar

Raigarh: The 80th Independence Day was celebrated with enthusiasm, patriotic fervour and joy at Adani Power Limited (APL), Chhote Bhandar. Plant officials and employees, their family members and a large number of residents from surrounding villages attended the celebrations.

The programme began with the unfurling of the national flag by the Chief Business Officer (CBO) and the Project Head. In his address, the CBO highlighted the role of the energy sector in nation-building, the importance of a safe work culture, reliable power generation and the company’s commitment to the development of local communities.

The Project Head shared an update on the progress of the 2×800 MW project and outlined various CSR and community development initiatives being undertaken in the region. He said Adani Power was continuously working towards the development of local communities and empowerment of youth.

As part of the programme, 26 employees of the Security Department were felicitated for their outstanding service, discipline and dedication to duty. In addition, 19 employees who demonstrated better performance at the plant were presented Spot Recognition Awards.

Cultural performances add colour to celebrations

A vibrant cultural programme added to the patriotic atmosphere of the celebrations. Trainees of the Adani Skill Development Centre (ASDC) and the Sewing Centre presented performances on patriotic songs.

Students of Primary School Amlibhauna and Kotmara presented captivating dances to patriotic songs, winning appreciation from the audience. Members of the Adani Power Green Harmony Ladies Club presented folk traditions and traditional dances from different States of the country, offering a glimpse of India’s rich cultural diversity.

Children of employees working at the plant also made the occasion special with patriotic songs, poetry recitations and musical performances. Their presentations were warmly appreciated by those present.

At the conclusion of the programme, the CBO and Project Head presented gifts to all participating children, trainees and members of the Ladies Club as a gesture of encouragement. The celebrations concluded with the distribution of sweets.
