Bilaspur : The Coal India Limited Inter-Company Hockey Tournament 2025–26 concluded today with great enthusiasm, discipline, and sportsmanship at the Late Shri B.R. Yadav International Hockey Stadium, Bahtarai, Bilaspur. The tournament was organized under the aegis of South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL). In the final match, teams from South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) and Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) faced each other. Displaying an outstanding performance, SECL defeated CCL by a commanding margin of 6–1 to clinch the championship title. Both teams showcased excellent coordination, swift attacking play, and strong defense, earning wide appreciation from the spectators. The closing ceremony was graced by Shri Biranchi Das, Director (Human Resources), SECL, as the Chief Guest, and Shri D. Sunil Kumar, Director (Finance), SECL, as the Special Guest.
The dignitaries presented trophies and prizes to the winner and runner-up teams. Among those present on the occasion were Shri Manish Shrivastava, Secretary, Hockey Chhattisgarh; Shri Rohitashwa Bajpai, President, Hockey Bilaspur; members of the Coal India Welfare Board; members of the SECL Operating Committee; representatives of the SECL Welfare Mandal; Headquarters and Area JCC members; Regional Welfare Committee members; representatives of various councils and associations; along with a large number of officers and employees. In the third-place playoff held earlier in the day, Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL) secured third position by defeating Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) with an impressive performance. This successful tournament strongly reflected the unity, coordination, and sporting culture of the Coal India family.
