Vibhash Singh Thakur honoured with Pride of Central India Award by Union Minister in Delhi

Raigarh । Vibhash Singh Thakur, a prominent and dynamic youth leader from Raigarh, was conferred the prestigious Pride of Central India Award at an event organised  in New Delhi. The accolade was presented by Union Minister for Food Processing Industries, Chirag Paswan, in recognition of Thakur’s exemplary social work and his tireless efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The ceremony was held at the Hyatt Regency in the national capital, where Thakur was lauded for his role in reaching out to those in need during the pandemic. Known as a relentless activist and a key figure in state-level movements, Vibhash Singh Thakur has earned widespread admiration for his unwavering commitment to societal welfare.

During the pandemic, Thakur took on the role of a saviour for countless individuals. From distributing vitamin C supplements and arranging the production of masks through women’s groups to organising food supplies for thousands, his efforts stood out. His initiatives also included providing meals and water to travellers passing through Raigarh, earning him the title of “COVID Messiah” in the region.

Thakur’s activism extends beyond emergency relief work. As a resolute leader, he has consistently championed the cause of displaced youths in Raigarh’s industrial landscape. Many who lost their land to industrial projects found employment opportunities through Thakur’s persistent efforts and organised protests, further solidifying his reputation as a people’s leader.

The Pride of Central India Award is a significant recognition of Vibhash Singh Thakur’s contributions and a moment of pride for Raigarh. “This honour symbolises the strength of Raigarh’s community and its commitment to social welfare,” said a dignitary at the event.
