Gautam Adani hails achievement as reflection of group’s commitment to equal opportunity through education
Students from remote villages including first-time selection from Khariya to now study at JNV Mana, Raipur
Raipur । In a remarkable milestone for rural education empowerment, ten students from the Adani Navodaya Coaching Centre in Tilda block, Raipur, have successfully cleared the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) entrance examination for the academic session 2024–25. The centre, run under the social initiatives of Adani Foundation, has been instrumental in bridging the educational gap for underprivileged students residing in plant-adjacent villages.
Among the ten selected students, four are boys and six are girls — a noteworthy stride in promoting girl-child education. Particularly significant is the selection of a student from Khariya village, marking the first-ever entry from the area into JNV, while two students from Chicholi village have also secured admission. All ten will soon join JNV Mana, Raipur, to receive quality residential schooling.
Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani, expressing his delight over the achievement, said, “Our commitment goes beyond business. It is about ensuring that every section of society receives equal opportunity through quality education. This success is a significant step toward that goal, and we are proud that Adani Foundation is driving this change.”
Dr Preeti Adani, Chairperson of the Adani Foundation, lauded the efforts of the coaching team and said, “Our aim has always been to offer rural and marginalised students access to education that can transform their future. The performance of these students proves that with the right guidance and sincere effort, success is attainable.”
Congratulating the students, Shrikant Vaidya, Station Head, Adani Power Ltd, Raipur, remarked, “It is our constant endeavour to extend meaningful educational support to children who lack resources. This result validates that committed efforts in the right direction bring tangible outcomes.”
The success story has also resonated in villages like Chicholi, Khariya, Konari, Tarashiv, Chathaud, Gaurkheda, and Khapri. Village heads and sarpanches from these areas shared their happiness, calling the students’ selection a moment of pride. Chicholi’s sarpanch, Rampyari Ramniwas Dhruv, said the selection of two students from her village is a matter of joy for the entire community. Khariya’s sarpanch, Saroj Kshatriya, termed it a historic moment, while Tarashiv’s sarpanch, Purnima Manish Verma, and others emphasised that this success will inspire future students to aim higher.
Over the past decade, the Adani Navodaya Coaching Centre has enabled 79 students to secure admission into JNV Mana, offering structured coaching, academic support, and mentoring. Behind this year’s success lies the unwavering dedication of the coaching team, including Sanjay Nirmalkar, Sangeeta Kshatriya, Sadhana Verma, Anita Dheewar, Poonam Verma, and Chaitanya Sinha, whose commitment continues to shape the lives of children from underserved communities.
