Raipur : In a significant step towards strengthening the healthcare services in Chhattisgarh, the state government has approved the contractual appointment of seven new specialist doctors. Acting on the instructions of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai and Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, the National Health Mission (NHM) has issued orders for their immediate deployment in various government health institutions across the state. Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal informed that seven contractual specialist doctors have been appointed in different government health facilities in the state. This initiative aims to ensure quicker and improved medical treatment and enhance the overall quality of healthcare services.
These doctors have been posted to both rural and urban community health centres as well as district hospitals. The National Health Mission (Chhattisgarh) has released the formal appointment orders today. As per the order, Dr. Piyush Dewangan and Dr. Vivek Singh have been posted at District Hospital, Balod, Dr. Arpit Yadav at District Hospital, Kabirdham, Dr. Shashikant Kumar at District Hospital, Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur, Dr. Sanjay Kumar Agrawal at Community Health Centre, Saraipali, District Mahasamund, while Dr. Ghanshyam Gangwani and Dr. Priyanka Joshi have been posted at Community Health Centre, Sargaon, District Mungeli. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, the healthcare sector continues to receive top priority. In the past year, several significant measures have been taken to strengthen healthcare services across the state. A large number of contractual human resource appointments have been made under the National Health Mission with the aim of extending medical facilities to remote and rural areas. Between January 2024 and April 2025, contractual appointments have been made for 88 specialist doctors, 432 medical officers, 344 staff nurses, 87 Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs), 75 lab technicians, 279 community health officers and around 878 personnel in other positions. These appointments have significantly boosted the availability and quality of medical services in state-run health centres.
The expansion of healthcare services in Chhattisgarh is not merely the result of administrative efforts, but also reflects a structured and goal-oriented approach to policy-making. These new appointments are proving to be milestones in enhancing the capacities of healthcare centres and also in ensuring timely treatment for the general public.
