Raipur – Our biggest challenge was to establish trust among the public. Now, on completion of one year of our government, I am satisfied to say that we have maintained the public trust by fulfilling all the big promises made in the form of ‘Modi’s Guarantee’.
Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai said these things while addressing the media representatives at the local New Circuit House today in a press conference organized to commemorate the completion of one year of the government. Chief Minister Sai said that the first year of our government is being completed on 13th December, Chhattisgarh state has established many new dimensions of development in the last one year. We have declared the last one year as the year of faith. In fact, the five years of the previous government in the state was a time of crisis of confidence. By going back on almost all the promises made in the ‘Public Manifesto’, the previous government had created a crisis of confidence not only for the state but for the entire democracy. The Chief Minister said that our biggest challenge was to establish this trust among the public. Now, on completion of one year, when our entire government has been presented before the public through you with the report card, I am satisfied to say that by fulfilling all the big promises made in the form of ‘Modi’s Guarantee’, we have Trust has been restored. We have got the privilege of fulfilling the promise made to the Mahtari sisters of the state, to the farmers, to the youth and to the people of the weaker section who have been deprived of housing. Chief Minister Sai said that during the assembly elections, our government had promised the citizens of the state that if our government is formed, we will establish good governance in the state. We will establish a corruption-free and transparent system, as soon as the government was formed, we took prompt action against corruption. Those who are found involved in corruption cases are being sent to jail. The Chief Minister said that this year our entire focus was on restoring public confidence. Now the pinnacle of development and prosperity of Chhattisgarh has to be built on the foundation of this belief. We will work day and night with utmost efforts to contribute to the development of Chhattisgarh and fulfill the resolve of India’s illustrious Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a developed India. We will celebrate the silver jubilee of the establishment of the state on 01 November 2025. We have set a target of taking the GDP of the state to ten lakh crores by the year 2028. Chief Minister Sai said that fulfilling the promise made to the farmers, we made a record purchase of paddy at the rate of Rs 3100 per quintal and 21 quintals per acre. As per our promise, we also transferred two years’ outstanding paddy bonus amounting to Rs 3716 crore to the farmer brothers. He said that fulfilling the promise made to the mothers and sisters of the state, Mahtari Vandan Yojana was started within three months, 70 lakh mothers and sisters are getting its benefits. Till now, Rs 6530 crore has been transferred in ten installments of this scheme. He said that the decision was taken in the cabinet meeting on the very second day of government formation to fulfill its promise of providing 18 lakh Prime Minister houses for needy families. Tendu leaves collection rate has been increased from Rs 4,000 per standard bag to Rs 5,500 per standard bag. Chief Minister Sai said that by implementing the new education policy in the state, education has been made employment oriented. To enhance the talents of the state, it has been decided to build hi-tech libraries in 13 urban bodies of the state on the lines of Nalanda campus of Raipur. As per our promise, we have improved the CGPSC examination system. The examinations were conducted with complete transparency and their results were declared. With this, the confidence of the state’s talents has returned to CG PSC. We started a scheme to provide free ration to 68 lakh poor families of the state for five years. In this way, we have fulfilled most of the guarantees of the illustrious Prime Minister Narendra Modi within a year. Chief Minister Sai said that our government is striving to establish good governance, to achieve this goal we have created a new department named Good Governance and Convergence. Our effort is that common citizens do not have to visit offices for small tasks. For this we are using technology more and more. Their work should be done in one click or one phone call. We are continuously realizing the dream of good governance of Chhattisgarh state creator, former Prime Minister, Bharat Ratna late Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji. What has been called Ram-Raj in the Puranas, is what we call good governance. The Chief Minister said that we have expanded road, rail and air facilities in the tribal areas. Now air service has also started from Ambikapur airport. Public representation has been further strengthened in the authorities constituted for the development of Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes and Other Backward Classes. Besides, Chhattisgarh Tribal Advisory Council has also been formed. Apart from this, on the occasion of Tribal Pride Day, we have announced to give Samman Nidhi of Rs 5,000 each annually to Baiga, Gunia and Sirha of the state. Akhra Nirman Vikas Yojana has been started in tribal villages. We have also decided to install statues of tribal freedom fighters and heroes at various places. CM said that tourism corridor is being constructed in Bastar, it is a big achievement that village Dhudmaras of Kanger valley has now made a place on the world tourism map. The United Nations World Tourism Organization has included this village among the selected twenty villages of the world for the development of tourism. The formation of Guru Ghasidas-Tamor Pingla Tiger Reserve has also strengthened the possibilities of development of tourism in the state. Madheshwar mountain in Surguja has been recognized as the world’s largest natural Shivalinga. Chief Minister Sai said that Lord Ram has a deep connection with Chhattisgarh, he is our nephew and he spent ten years of his fourteen years of exile here. It is our endeavor that the world should know about our relationship with Lord Shri Ram. By starting Shri Ram Lalla Darshan Yojana in the state, we made arrangements for a free visit to Ayodhya Dham for the devotees here, so that they can deepen their relationship with Lord Ram. Chief Minister Sai said that our new industrial policy has created new possibilities of development in the industrial sector of the state. This policy will strengthen the economy of the state. We have made this policy employment oriented. In the new industrial policy, youth have been encouraged for self-employment. We have also included tourism as an industry. Besides, there is a special provision to give concession to micro, small and medium industries also. In the new industrial policy, there is a provision to give special incentives to entrepreneurs belonging to Scheduled Castes and Tribes, women entrepreneurs, retired firefighters, ex-servicemen, Naxal affected, surrendered Naxalites and third gender entrepreneurs. Chief Minister Sai said that Naxalism has been rapidly eradicated in the state during the last one year. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has pledged to completely eliminate Naxalism from Chhattisgarh by March 2026. In the last one year, 213 Naxalites have been killed in encounters. About 1750 Naxalites have either been forced to surrender or have been arrested. Chief Minister Sai said that one of our big successes is that we were successful in spreading the rays of democracy and development to the inner villages of Bastar through Niyad ‘Nella Naar Yojana’. Recently, I stayed with the soldiers in the security camp of Bastar, which was the most pleasant experience of my life. Seeing the increased morale and confidence of the soldiers, I have also felt new energy within me. Chief Minister Sai said that due to the double engine government in the state, the state has progressed very fast in one year. We have received full cooperation and support from the Centre. During this period, road projects worth Rs 31 thousand crore have been approved for Chhattisgarh, within two years there will be a strong network of roads in Chhattisgarh. Besides, to strengthen the rail network, we have received approval from the Center for many important rail lines. He said that the process of construction of buildings of four medical colleges in the state has been started. A provision of Rs 1020 crore has been made for the construction of Janjgir-Champa, Kabirdham, Manendragarh and Geedam medical colleges. Chief Minister Sai said that from the results of the recent by-elections in the state, it is completely clear that we have lived up to the expectations of the citizens of the state. People from every corner of the state live in the capital, hence in a way it is the public’s seal of approval on the functioning of our government.
