Bilaspur/Raipur । Demonstrating exemplary commitment to public service, Rajnesh Singh, a seasoned IPS officer from the 2012 batch, has been promoted to the coveted post of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) by the Chhattisgarh government.

In a recent announcement, the state’s Home (Police) Department had promoted eight IPS officers to the SSP rank for completing 13 years of dedicated service. However, owing to a technical oversight, Rajnesh Singh’s name was mistakenly omitted from the original order. The government has now rectified the error by issuing a revised notification on March 18, 2025, confirming Singh’s elevation to Selection Grade Pay Level-13 with a salary scale of Rs 1,23,100 – Rs 2,15,900, effective from January 1, 2025. The formal order was signed by Him Shikhar Gupta, Secretary, Home (Police) Department, Chhattisgarh.

Singh’s illustrious career is marked by a string of remarkable achievements. He began his journey in law enforcement as a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in 1997 before earning a place in the Indian Police Service (IPS) in 2012. His dedication and outstanding performance earned him the prestigious President’s Police Medal in 2017, cementing his reputation as a fearless and result-driven officer.

Throughout his career, Singh has held several significant positions, including Additional Superintendent of Police in Raipur, Superintendent of Police in Dhamtari, Narayanpur, and currently in Bilaspur. His impactful contributions during his posting in Bastar earned him widespread recognition, where he spearheaded multiple successful anti-Naxal operations, playing a crucial role in counter-insurgency efforts in the conflict-ridden region.

Singh’s tenure with the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) saw him leading critical operations that resulted in the arrest of terrorists linked to the infamous Patna-Bodhgaya blasts. In his role with the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Singh took a hardline stance against corruption, driving numerous high-profile cases to successful conclusions.

“Rajnesh Singh’s promotion is a fitting recognition of his unwavering dedication, strategic acumen, and ability to deliver results under pressure,” remarked a senior IPS officer from Chhattisgarh Police while speaking to ApnaChhattisgarh.com. “His exemplary work in counter-terrorism, anti-Naxal campaigns, and maintaining law and order has set a benchmark for dedication and leadership in the force.”
