Along with tourism development, the district administration is making continuous efforts for the livelihood of the local people.
Gaurela pendra Marwahi । Covered with dense Sal forests and full of natural springs, caves, mountains and plateaus, Gaurela-Pendra is counted among the natural beauty due to the origin of eight rivers – Arpa, Son, Tan, Tipan, Bamhani, Johila, Malaniya and Ailaan. Marwahi district. Under decentralization of power, GPM district was formed by separating it from Bilaspur district on 10 February 2020. After becoming a separate district, meaningful initiatives are being taken by the district administration to give a new identity to GPM district as a tourism district, to develop tourist places, provide facilities to tourists and provide livelihood to the local people.
Seeing the immense potential of tourism in GPM district, the district administration has started boating in the wide reservoir of Gaganai Nature Camp. Along with beautification, canteens and barriers have been constructed for the convenience of tourists to promote tourism at places like Rajmergarh, Thadpathra, Laxmandhara, Mai Ka Madwa, Jhojha Falls, Jogi Cave etc. Trekking, camping and other activities are being organized at these places. Local tourism committees have been formed for the maintenance and upkeep of tourist places. Necessary resources are being provided to tourism committees for night tours. Local youth have been given training in trekking, hospitality etc.

Home stays are being operated in Basti Bagra and Son Bacharwar through local tourism committees. Tourists visiting Jhojha Falls can enjoy the home stay operated in Basti Bagra, a tribal village situated in the valleys of nature. Community Village Stay is also being run by the local tourism committee in Lamna Gram Panchayat, in which tourists are also connected with the traditional culture. Son Bacharwar, which is considered to be the origin of Son river, and is the only temple in the whole world where the statues of Mother Narmada and Shonbhadra ji can be seen together, a huge fair is also organized here on Magh Purnima. Is. This village is also a famous pilgrimage place for its religious importance. There is also Son Bacharwar Home Stay, which is being run by the Tourism Committee. Mud House is being built in tourist destination Thadpathra, it will also be operated by the local tourism committee.

Dhanpur is an archaeological site in the district, where the huge stone sculpture of Benibai is being preserved by the Tourism Committee. The sculptures and remains recovered from the excavation are also being conserved here. A sculpture museum is being constructed in Dhanpur. Under tourism development, approval has been given for aqua tourism and water sports in Malaniya Dam from the Mineral Trust head, which is to be operated by the Fishermen Cooperative Society. The tourist destination of the district, full of natural beauty, is pleasing not only to the local tourists but also to the foreign tourists. The district administration is making every possible effort for the development of all the rare and attractive tourist areas of the district. The liveliness and picturesqueness of every tourist spot from Kabir Chabutra to Samudalai will increase the fame of the district in the entire country in the coming days.
To promote the tourist places of the district, a coffee table book has been made by the district administration and a website has been created to make the tourist places of the district accessible to the people through internet. Booking of camping, trekking, homestay, community village stay and mudhouse run by tourism committees is also done through this website.
