Jamul,Durg,Chhattisgarh । A transporter associated with ACC Limited has been arrested for large-scale coal theft and fraud. Accused- Lokesh Jain is the owner of Vardhaman Transport. It is alleged that it committed fraud involving misappropriation and tampering of coal, which affected the quality of supplies to ACC Limited. The matter came to light when ACC Limited, during a routine quality check, found irregularities in the coal brought by Vardhman Transport. Coal with calorific value much below the required standard was found in three trucks. Suspecting foul play, the company reported the matter to the authorities. Subsequently, an FIR was registered under section 154 CrPC. A case has been registered in Jamul, Durg, Chhattisgarh citing sections 407 and 511 of the IPC, which include criminal breach of trust and attempts to cheat. Further investigation revealed that the drivers and owners of Vardhaman Transport were allegedly involved in the racket of coal theft and adulteration of adulterated mixture to degrade the quality of coal. Upon the initial arrest of the drivers, they confessed to tampering with the supply of coal to the cement plant of ACC Limited. The stolen coal was reportedly mixed with substandard ingredients, leading to a significant drop in its calorific standard. This irregularity was detected by the auditing and quality control system of ACC Limited. This case is an example of transparent supply chain monitoring across industries. Companies operating in large-scale supply chains are showing how fraud can be prevented through vigilance and real-time checks. This incident sends a clear message to all involved in the supply chain that any irregularities, irrespective of the scale, will be dealt with strictly.
