Korba : As part of the ongoing Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM) 2025, NTPC Korba continues to foster growth and learning through a range of innovative workshops, interactive sessions, and educational visits. In a recent initiative under this mission, the GEM girls were taken on an enriching visit to Pali Nursery, a renowned forest nursery located in the Pali Tehsil of Korba district, Chhattisgarh.

Pali Nursery stands out as one of the hi-tech nurseries in the Korba district, and plays a pivotal role in promoting agroforestry, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable environmental practices. The nursery is actively involved in conserving plant species that are on the brink of extinction, thus contributing significantly to ecological preservation in the region.
During the visit, the GEM participants were given practical and theoretical exposure under the expert guidance of Smt. Savita Patel, Incharge of Pali Nursery. The session included a comprehensive overview of the nursery’s diverse activities such as greenhouse management, nursery and floriculture production, and vermi composting processes. The girls were engaged in interactive learning, exploring how these techniques contribute to sustainable agriculture and environmental conservation.
This educational outreach aimed to broaden the horizons of young girls, instilling in them a sense of responsibility towards the environment while nurturing their interest in science, sustainability, and nature-based careers. The visit was not only informative but also deeply inspiring, as the participants interacted with professionals and witnessed firsthand the critical work being done at the nursery.
NTPC Korba’s GEM 2025 initiative continues to empower young girls by exposing them to diverse career paths, life skills, and practical knowledge through such immersive experiences. Visits like the one to Pali Nursery are helping build a generation of environmentally conscious, confident, and capable young women ready to shape a better tomorrow.
