Mungeli । These days the rural areas including the city are getting caught in the clutches of drug traffickers. A few days ago, a big action was taken by the Mungeli police against drug abuse. Despite this, the spirits of the people have become so high that they no longer fear the administration and the drug business is going on fearlessly. It is worth mentioning that a few months ago, CM Vishnudev Sai showed a tough attitude in the Collectors and IG-SP conference as well. He bluntly told the police officers that laxity in religious and murder cases will not be tolerated. Immediate action should be taken in such cases. He said that zero tolerance policy should be adopted on illegal liquor, gambling, betting, drug abuse. Till some time back, people involved in drugs and children used to fulfill their hobbies with small drugs, but in the current environment, with age, their hobbies have also started changing. Currently, to fulfill their hobbies, they are not even refraining from dry intoxicants including nitra, ganja. As soon as the evening falls, such people gather in the deserted areas around the city including squares and intersections. It starts happening in the areas. Which goes on till late night. During this time, these drunk people do not even shy away from committing big crimes. An example of this is that a few months ago, a case of a cow being attacked with a knife in a drunken state near Dauphara Chowk came to light. During this time, an attempt was also made by the said person to attack the law enforcers. It is said that the lanes around the main squares and intersections of the city are the favorite places for these people. The lane adjoining Dauphara Chowk, Rest House ground, the deserted area near Rambo School, including the deserted temple, under the pool, the drug addicts start gathering as soon as it gets dark.
Continuous action is being taken. Recently, a large quantity of cannabis plants were seized. Such action will continue in the future as well. If anyone is caught doing such work, strict action will be taken.
