SAIL-BSP’s Vigilance Department, with the support of the Sports, Cultural & Civic Amenities (SCCA) Department, organised this Walkathon, with the aim of spreading general awareness on this year’s theme for Vigilance Awareness Week- “Culture of Integrity for Nation’s Prosperity”, which was chosen by the Central Vigilance Commission, the apex anti-corruption body in the country.

Chief Guest Shri. Anjani Kumar, ED (Works) administered the Integrity Pledge to everyone present during the programme, and flagged off the Walkathon from Ispat Bhawan, at 7.00 AM in the presence of Dr. AK Panda, ED (F&A), Shri. Pawan Kumar, ED (HR), Shri. BK Giri, ED (Mines), Dr. Ravindranath M., CMO I/c (M&HS), Shri. NK Banchhor, Shri. NK Banchhor, Chairman (SEFI) & President (OA-BSP), Shri. Parvinder Singh, Gen. Secy. (OA-BSP), CGMs, GMs and other Senior Officials and personnel from various departments of the Plant.

The Plant Employees, athletes from the SCCA Department, CISF Commandants and Personnel and citizens of Bhilai Township present on this occasion marched from Ispat Bhawan to CEZ Square and back, giving a message of Corruption-free working at the Plant and every organisation in India.

It is noteworthy that various competitions, including drawing, painting, essay, slogan, extempore quiz etc., are being organized by SAIL-BSP’s Vigilance Department under the Vigilance Awareness Week-2024 at BSP and other institutions of the region.

Vigilance Awareness Week is one of the tools of the Central Vigilance Commission for increasing public awareness about the perils of corruption. Vigilance Awareness Week is observed every year during the last week of October and continues till the first week of November, during which the Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is observed.
