New Delhi | A proud moment awaits the journalistic fraternity of Chhattisgarh at the upcoming national medical convention UDFCON 2025, where Mukesh S Singh, Senior Investigative Journalist and News Editor of The Hitavada (Raipur Edition), will be conferred with the prestigious Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Seva Samman Award.
The award will be presented by Union Minister for Labour and Youth Affairs, Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, during the national-level conference hosted by the United Doctors Front (UDF) at the Constitution Club of India, New Delhi, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
This national recognition is a tribute to Mukesh S Singh’s over three decades of fearless, ethical, and public-spirited journalism. Notably, he is the only journalist from Chhattisgarh to be selected for this prestigious honour — representing the voice of Indian journalism on a platform dedicated to national service, reform, and transparency.
UDFCON 2025, organised by United Doctors Front, is a premier national summit that seeks to bridge the gap between health policy and grassroots implementation. The event will also lend momentum to campaigns such as “Tobacco-Free Bharat”, advocating systemic reforms and social responsibility in public health.
The Chief Guest for the event will be Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister for Labour and Youth Affairs. Guests of Honour include Prof. (Dr) B.N. Gangadhar, Chairman, National Medical Commission (NMC), and Prof. (Dr) B. Srinivas, DDG (ME), DGHS and Former Secretary, NMC.
Among the featured speakers at the conference are Dr Arvind K. Drave, Sh. Aujender Singh, Dr Charu Mathur, Prof. (Dr) Nimesh Desai, Dr Sunil Khatri, and Prof. (Dr) Om Prakash — all of whom bring vital perspectives from medical, legal, and administrative spheres.
In his official statement, Dr Lakshya Mittal, National President of United Doctors Front and Organising Chairman of UDFCON 2025, remarked: “To honour a courageous and principled journalist like Mukesh S Singh is to honour the soul of journalism itself — one that upholds truth, accountability, and the collective conscience of democracy.”
He added, “UDFCON 2025 is more than a conference. It is a national movement that empowers those who drive reform through courage — whether in medicine, law, governance or the media.”
As part of the conference, a grand national felicitation ceremony will recognise professionals across sectors — including doctors, bureaucrats, entrepreneurs, educators, social workers, and journalists — who have demonstrated outstanding service to society and the nation.
“Mukesh S Singh’s selection underscores the timeless value of fact-based, ethical journalism in shaping democratic dialogue and public policy,” said Dr Lakshya Mittal, Organising Chairman, UDFCON 2025 National President, United Doctors Front (UDF)
