Continuous effort is the key to success – IPS Ms. Ankita Sharma

People who are successful in life always think big and every big thinking person definitely becomes successful one day through hard work. To crack UPSC, along with ability, one must also have the courage to never give up.
Chhattisgarh’s first woman IPS and the flamboyant Superintendent of Police of Sakti district, Ms. Ankita Sharma said the above things to Arvind Tiwari in a brief discussion. Let us tell you that on one hand, even Naxalites tremble with their policing methodology, on the other hand, by providing teaching and guidance to UPSP students, they are also a source of inspiration for lakhs of youth. People also salute him because of his innovative initiatives in his field, he has millions of followers on social media. Today we are going to introduce you to one such brave woman IPS, who needs no introduction. He has achieved the journey of becoming an IPS through hard work. Stories of his bravery are famous across the country today. IPS Ms. Ankita Sharma is a resident of Sikosa village in Durg district of Chhattisgarh and her maternal home is in Patan. He was born on 25 June 1990, his mother Savita Sharma is a housewife and father Rakesh Sharma is a businessman. She is the eldest among three siblings. Ankita, who has been a topper in studies since childhood, received her primary education from St. Xavier’s School, Durg. After this, he did MBA in Finance and Human Resources from Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekananda Technical University, in which he is a gold medalist. After this she went to Delhi to prepare for Civil Services, but she did not feel like going there. Within six months, she left Delhi and returned to her home and decided to prepare for the exam from there. IPS officer Ankita Sharma had failed to crack UPSC twice but due to her hard work and dedication, she passed the exam in the third attempt and became an IPS. He had secured 203 rank in UPSC 2018 exam with 1035 marks. She was allotted IPS rank in Chhattisgarh cadre and with this she became the first woman IPS officer of the state. After basic training, he worked as training posting in district Balodabazar. After this, he got his first posting in CSP Azad Chowk Raipur. Here, Ms. Ankita Sharma used to take out time from her routine every Sunday to teach UPSP to poor children, so that no talented child is left behind due to lack of money. She says that like other states, many youth from Chhattisgarh also want to join civil services, but there are neither high level coaching institutes nor are the youth able to get proper guidance. During UPSC preparation, I closely observed, learned and understood this problem of the youth of Chhattisgarh. Therefore, after becoming IPS, he took steps towards solving this problem of the youth of Chhattisgarh. She says that women are no less than anyone and they have worn uniform only to serve the people. During her posting in the capital, people were seen saluting IPS Ankita Sharma, who created a special place on social media by wearing a saree with the song ‘Dhar’ written on Chhattisgarhi Rajgeet Arpa Parry. After serving in the capital, when she was posted in Additional SP Naxal Operation Jagdalpur, despite being a woman officer, she did excellent work in the field of Naxal eradication and led the team in the forests there on many occasions. During this period, he conducted many successful campaigns against the Naxalites, stories of his bravery are famous across the country. After this, in September 2022, he got an important posting as the first Superintendent of Police of the new district Khairagarh, where he served as the Superintendent of Police of District Sakti. She considers Kiran Bedi as her role model. He is very fond of horse riding and badminton. She does yoga, pranayama and physical exercise and also pays special attention to her food habits. Among Chhattisgarhi dishes, she likes her mother’s cheela and tomato chilli chutney.
