Chief Minister Shri Sai received invitation for state level grand panthi dance competition

Raipur । Along with Chhattisgarh, Panthi dance troupes from different states of the country will participate in the state level Panthi dance competition. This competition will be organized from 19 to 21 December at Navagarh, the development block headquarters of Bemetara district. A team of Satnami community leaders under the leadership of Food Minister Dayal Das Baghel met Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai at his residence office and invited him to participate in the competition. Chief Minister Shri Sai gladly accepted the invitation and assured to participate in the birth anniversary program.

The delegation told Chief Minister Shri Sai that to commemorate the 268th birth anniversary of His Holiness Gurughasi Das Baba Ji, a state level panthi dance competition is being organized in the coming month of December. People from all sections of the society have been requested to make this event successful in an atmosphere of mutual love and harmony. Invitations have been sent to panthi dance groups from different states of the country to participate in the competition. There is also a plan to honor people from all communities who contributed to the event. On this occasion, information about the nature of the competition, organizing committee, security committee and other arrangements was also given. On this occasion, former MLA Ramji Bharti, former MLA Dr. Sanam Jangade, Padmashree Smt. Usha Barle and other representatives of the society were present.

Panthi dance is famous in India and abroad

Panthi dance of Chhattisgarh is famous in the country and abroad. This is a traditional dance of the Satnami community of Chhattisgarh. In this dance, the messages of Baba Guru Ghasidas ji are presented through songs and dance. It is actually a religious and spiritual dance. This dance is like collective worship. The specialty of this dance is that the dancers perform the dance at a fast pace to the beat of Mandar and the cymbal of Manjeera. The audience gets thrilled by this dance which is performed at a fast pace. Many musical instruments are used in Panthi dance, such as Maander, Jhanj, Jhumka, Manjire, Chikara, Harmonium, and Banjo etc.
