BJP fuelling social discord to hide failures, attacking Bhupesh Baghel: Nandu Sinha

Raipur : Nandu Sinha, Joint General Secretary of the City District Congress Committee and State Vice President of the Yuva Manch Kalar Samaj, has launched a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing the ruling party in Chhattisgarh of deliberately provoking social tensions to conceal its governance failures.

Mr. Sinha alleged that the BJP government in the State has “completely failed” and is now resorting to divisive politics to divert public attention from its shortcomings. He claimed that a statement made by former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel was being deliberately distorted and misrepresented to create controversy in the name of the Sahu community.

According to Mr. Sinha, Mr. Baghel did not make any derogatory or objectionable remark against any community. “Despite this, the BJP has unleashed its leaders and spokespersons across the State, spreading misinformation and confusion,” he said. He questioned what significant contribution Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao had made in the last two years that the people of Chhattisgarh would remember.

The Congress leader further alleged that the Deputy Chief Minister had been reduced to a nominal position, with little influence over the administration. “Neither officials heed him nor is his role visible in governance. Even within the BJP, there is discussion that leaders have no real say, and out of this frustration, new controversies are being manufactured to mislead the public,” he said.

Mr. Sinha asserted that the BJP has neither an account of its present performance nor a clear roadmap for the future. He said that instead of answering questions on unemployment, inflation, law and order, and farmers’ distress, the ruling party repeatedly targets Mr. Baghel because he continues to raise strong, people-centric issues.

He accused the BJP of using the Sahu community as a shield to suppress genuine public questions. “Mr. Baghel merely referred to a commonly used Chhattisgarhi folk saying, but the BJP, as part of a conspiracy, presented it in a distorted manner,” he said.

Responding to allegations made by BJP OBC Morcha district president Tekhan Sinha against Mr. Baghel, Nandu Sinha termed them “purely political and baseless”. He said that those who lacked understanding of society and had never worked for it were now indulging in rhetoric in the name of social concern.

Concluding his statement, Mr. Sinha warned that the people of Chhattisgarh were fully aware of the BJP’s “provocative and divisive politics” and would give a fitting response at the appropriate time.
