Chhattisgarh’s PM-JANMAN Scheme Takes Mobile Healthcare Services to Over 1.25 Lakh PVTG Beneficiaries

57 mobile medical units across 18 districts provide over 3.32 lakh consultations and more than 2.94 lakh diagnostic services

RAIPUR: Reaching remote tribal communities with essential healthcare services, the PM-JANMAN (Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan) Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) programme in Chhattisgarh has covered 1,25,051 beneficiaries belonging to Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) through 57 mobile medical units operating across 18 districts.

Since its launch on December 31, 2025, the programme has organised 15,209 medical camps, registered 2,45,095 patients and recorded 3,32,526 consultations. It has also conducted 2,94,560 diagnostic investigations. The programme has further recorded 1,28,596 follow-up patient records and 3,671 hospital referrals.

The mobile units deliver healthcare services directly to villages and remote hamlets, providing medical consultations, laboratory tests, screening, medicines and referral assistance. Each unit is staffed by a doctor, a nurse, a laboratory technician and a driver, enabling communities to access essential healthcare services closer to their homes.

The programme has also conducted 2,54,912 point-of-care tests for non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and 2,17,889 blood tests. These services help facilitate the timely identification of diseases and prompt medical intervention.

Implemented with operational support from Dhanush Healthcare Systems Private Limited, the initiative highlights the importance of mobile healthcare services in reaching vulnerable tribal populations and improving access to essential medical facilities in geographically challenging areas.

Through sustained efforts, the programme aims to strengthen last-mile healthcare delivery and ensure that remote and underserved PVTG communities continue to receive essential medical care, diagnostic services and follow-up support.
