Teachers from 45 government schools felicitated for their contribution to education and community development
AMBIKAPUR : RRVUNL honoured 150 teachers for their outstanding contribution to the field of education on the occasion of Teachers’ Day, recognising their important role in shaping society. The “Guru Samman” programme, organised at Adani Vidya Mandir, Salhi, under the company’s CSR initiative, saw enthusiastic participation from teachers and students associated with 45 government schools across 15 villages in the Parsa project area.
The programme highlighted the importance of positive engagement among schools, communities and educational stakeholders.
The event began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. Students expressed their respect for their teachers through a welcome song and cultural performances. Student Iram spoke about the life and contribution of former President of India and eminent educationist Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan to the field of education.
Cluster HR Head Ram Dwivedi said teachers not only impart knowledge but also instil values and confidence among students and inspire them to dream of a better future. He said the role of teachers was among the most important in nation and society building.
Cluster HR Head and Associate GM Lieutenant Colonel Abhijeet felicitated 150 teachers for their notable contribution to education. The teachers represented 45 government schools from Parsa, Salhi, Basen, Chakari, Ghatbarra, Fatehpur, Tara, Janardanpur, Shivnagar, Gumga, Saidu, Suskam, Parogiya, Sarma and Pendrikhi, besides nearby villages.
CAC and Principal of Government High School, Parsa, Rajkumar Chandra; Sunil Kumar Yadav, CAC, Pendrikhi; Ved Prakash Dewangan, CAC, Tara; Vijay Kumar Yadav, CAC, Gumga; and Satyendra Nath Yogi, CRC, Ghatbarra, were among those present.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Yogi said, “Honouring government teachers is a commendable initiative. Such programmes recognise the contribution of teachers while also strengthening relations among schools, communities and various stakeholders. Teachers are the makers of the country’s future and guide students towards becoming successful and responsible citizens.”
RRVUNL has undertaken several initiatives to promote education in the Parsa project area. These include competitive coaching centres to prepare students for the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Prayas, Eklavya and Sainik School entrance examinations; provision of quality education through Adani Vidya Mandir; and development of basic infrastructure in government schools, including study materials, desks and benches, water filters, sports equipment and toilets.
These initiatives are benefiting more than 80 schools and over 5,000 students in the region.
The “Guru Samman” programme organised on Teachers’ Day not only conveyed respect and gratitude towards teachers but also effectively underlined the importance of education and community participation.
