Zero Tolerance Against Illegal Activities, Firm Action on Cyber Crime: SSP Shashi Mohan Singh


Raigarh : With the appointment of new leadership, the Raigarh police administration has outlined a clear and firm vision for maintaining law and order. Newly posted Deputy Inspector General of Police and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shashi Mohan Singh interacted with representatives of the print and electronic media during an introductory meeting held at the Police Control Room in Raigarh on Wednesday, where he shared his priorities and policing approach.

Introducing his service background, SSP Singh said he was selected as a Deputy Superintendent of Police in 1997 and has since served in various districts and battalions of the state, handling key responsibilities. He emphasised that the primary objective of the police is to exercise effective control over crime and ensure strict punishment for offenders. The Raigarh police, he said, would work with full commitment towards this goal.

Emphasis on Community Policing

Highlighting the importance of community policing, SSP Singh said strengthening coordination between the police and the general public would ensure quicker resolution of issues. This approach, he noted, would further enhance public trust in the police and make policing more accessible and reliable.

Cyber Crime a Major Challenge

Describing cyber crime as one of the biggest challenges of the present time, SSP Shashi Mohan Singh congratulated the people of Raigarh on the establishment of a new Cyber Police Station in the district. He said the technologically equipped unit would play a vital role in providing swift relief to victims of online fraud, cheating, and other digital crimes.

Zero Tolerance for Illegal Activities

Responding to media queries, the SSP made it clear that illegal gambling, betting, illicit liquor trade, and other unlawful activities would be dealt with strictly under a zero-tolerance policy. He appealed to the media and citizens for cooperation, assuring that the police would take immediate and effective action on receiving credible information.

Collective Effort for a Safer Raigarh

SSP Shashi Mohan Singh stressed that a safe, peaceful, and crime-free Raigarh could be achieved only through the collective efforts of the police, society, and the media. The meeting was attended by Additional Superintendent of Police Anil Kumar Soni, Deputy Superintendent of Police Sushanto Banerjee, and a large number of media representatives.
