• Over 120 students, teachers, and women receive hands-on training
Raipur : Fire safety awareness programmes were organised in the villages of Tarasiv and Raikheda under a community outreach initiative by Adani Power Limited, Raikheda, in collaboration with the Adani Foundation. The initiative aimed to promote awareness about fire prevention, preparedness, and safe response during emergencies at both school and community levels.
At the Government Higher Secondary School in Tarasiv, a total of 59 students, along with the school principal and 10 teachers, participated in the programme. The session was also attended by four officials from the fire safety department, representatives of the Adani Foundation, and five facilitators associated with the Utthan programme.
During the session, fire safety officials, including Mr. Deepak Kumar, and representatives from the Adani Foundation explained the common causes of fire incidents, preventive measures, and essential safety precautions. Participants were given practical demonstrations on the use of fire extinguishers, including carbon dioxide (CO₂), foam, and dry powder types. Students and teachers actively engaged in hands-on practice during the training.
A similar awareness programme was conducted at the women’s tailoring centre located in the Raikheda Mahila Bhavan. The session saw the participation of 45 women, along with the centre in-charge, fire safety officials, members of the Adani Foundation team, and Utthan programme assistants.
The training focused on potential fire hazards at home and workplaces, preventive strategies, and safety measures. Women participants were also provided practical training in operating fire extinguishers, with many taking part in live demonstrations.
In total, over 120 participants benefited from these programmes. The initiative equipped students, teachers, and women with essential knowledge and practical skills to respond effectively during fire emergencies and reduce the risk of fire-related incidents.
The Adani Foundation continues to promote safety awareness and community development through such initiatives across educational institutions and local communities.
