Raipur : Marking the 37th Road Safety Month, the Adani Power Raipur Project organised a road safety awareness programme titled “Road Safety – Life Safety” at Raikheda, with the aim of promoting responsible road behaviour and reducing traffic accidents. The initiative was carried out with active support from the Kharora Police Station In-Charge (PI) and the local police team.

The programme focused on sensitising local residents, vehicle drivers and students about the importance of safe driving practices. As part of the initiative, helmets and road safety pamphlets were distributed to needy two-wheeler riders. Police officials and company representatives also educated participants about traffic signs, road markings and signal compliance, emphasising their role in preventing accidents.
To improve road safety during night-time travel, reflective tapes and stickers were affixed to vehicles at the site, enhancing their visibility. A road safety rally was organised within the factory gate premises, in which employees, police personnel and members of the local community participated, collectively spreading awareness on traffic discipline.

In a positive reinforcement effort, vehicle drivers who were found adhering to traffic rules were felicitated with roses and chocolates, encouraging others to follow safe driving norms. Key messages shared during the programme included avoiding mobile phone use while driving, maintaining safe distance, adhering to speed limits, and the mandatory use of helmets and seat belts.

Officials from the Kharora Police stated that road safety is a shared responsibility of all citizens, and such awareness campaigns play a vital role in reducing road accidents. Members of the local community welcomed the initiative, describing it as a meaningful and timely step towards safeguarding lives and promoting a culture of responsible road use.
