Domestic Dispute Turns Tragic: Father Kills Son in Drunken Rage

Mungeli । A shocking incident occurred on the night of April 23 in Kanchanpur village under Pathariya police station, where a father and uncle allegedly murdered their own son/nephew. The police managed to crack the case and arrest both accused within 24 hours, under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Bhojram Patel (IPS). According to reports, the deceased, Bhola Srivas, often had disputes with his father, Shivcharan Srivas. On the night of the incident, Bhola came home intoxicated and started verbally abusing his father. The argument escalated, and in a fit of rage, Shivcharan attacked Bhola multiple times with a bamboo stick. Bhola succumbed to his injuries on the spot. Further investigation revealed the involvement of Bhola’s uncle, Rajendra Srivas, who hid the murder weapon under a culvert outside the village. The stick was recovered by the police. A case has been registered at Pathariya Police Station under crime number 78/25, sections 103(1), 238(B), and 3(5) of the BNS. Both accused have been sent to judicial custody. Inspector Raghuveer Lal Chandra and his team, including Sub-Inspector Naresh Sahu, Head Constable Mukesh Kurre, Constables Lalji Anand, Halish Gendle, Ishwar Sahu, Rajtilak Banjare, and Rajeev Patel played a commendable role in solving the case.
