Raipur (Chhattisgarh) । In a significant development for cricket enthusiasts in Chhattisgarh, Indian cricket team’s head coach Gautam Gambhir is set to conduct a special cricket masterclass and training camp in Raipur next month. This marks the first instance of a former Indian cricket captain and current national team coach directly mentoring aspiring cricketers in the state.
The masterclass, scheduled for April and May, aims to provide high-level training to young cricketing talents. The initiative is being organized in collaboration with Ekana and Aranya. Joining Gambhir in the coaching panel will be experienced mentors like Mayank Siddana (former first-class cricketer and ex-selector for Delhi’s Ranji team), Suhail Sharma (former first-class cricketer and assistant coach of India Capitals), and Atul Ranade (former India C team fielding coach).
Excitement is palpable among young cricketers in the region, with this camp seen as a golden opportunity to receive professional training under the guidance of renowned cricket experts.
The recent successful hosting of the Super Success International Masters League in Chhattisgarh has further ignited enthusiasm for cricket in the state, reinforcing its growing prominence on the national cricketing map.
Trials for the upcoming cricket camp are scheduled to take place on March 22 and 23 at the Emerging Cricket Ground near Avanti Vihar in Raipur. Following the trials, selected players will participate in the extensive training camp throughout April and May.
Participation fees for the camp have been set at Rs 12,500 for players above 16 years of age and Rs 9,000 for those below 16. The fee includes a CricFest kit featuring a T-shirt and cap signed by Gautam Gambhir, nutritional snacks and hydration support, potential scholarship opportunities, transportation services, and mentorship sessions with Gambhir himself.
